Peace for Children Africa is a non-governmental, community-based organization that works with street children and other vulnerable demographics in Uganda. PCA provides its beneficiaries with access to opportunities for a better life and the ability to reconnect with their families and communities.

Since its inception in 2009, PCA has been connecting with street children in the Kisenyi, Katwe, and downtown areas of Kampala, Uganda to provide outreach, identification, assessment, enrollment, referral, and advocacy services.

What We Do

Transitional Children’s Housing

PCA operates a transitional home for up to 24 children in Bulange, all of whom are in full time education. PCA provides additional services on an emergency basis including transitional shelter in the Kisenyi slum, food, medication, and education.

Rural and Urban Farming/Entrepreneurship Programs

PCA is expanding its services and reach through entrepreneurship programs, farming programs, women’s programs, and a school.

PCA trains community members in and around Kampala in modern farming methods for both rural and urban farming. A large focus is on irrigation farming techniques to help residents carry on with vital farming activities even during the dry seasons.

Community Education Support

PCA has a full-time staff of teachers and volunteers to teach homeless children math, language, geography, history, and more. Classes are available to the children 5 days a week at the drop-in center.

PCA also works to find sponsors to provide kids with education resources and to send them to government schools.
